Cheap thrills

Construction worker boy finds it amusing to catcall and whistle at passing girls walking to and fro from the main building to the shop lots. He seems to like the ignored response he often gets.

He looks probably 2 to 3 years older than me but he could be younger. Who knows. Often in his cap and brown-looking t-shirt, he would sit on the window ledge of the first floor operation theater where the renovations are going on and try to attract attention to himself.

Today, while a colleague and I were heading towards my (not mine mine but mine cos I was driving it today) car during the lunch hour, construction boy was as usual perched on the window ledge and started calling out to us, asking where we were going, something about me and my car and saying goodbye. We were busy ignoring him so I wasn't really paying attention to what he was saying.

While hurrying down the stairs, I nearly had a collision with him and he apologized for nearly bumping into me and told me to be careful. Ignored him I did.

Since I work on the first floor where all the renovation is going on, I would very seldom bump into him since he would be perched on his window, trying to attract female attention. However, today, construction boy decided to spend lots of time outside the renovation site, waving and smiling at me when I hurry out from the MR room to deliver case notes and of course the usual tongue clicking noise and 'liang moi liang moi' to get attention.

What is it with the male species of this type? What do you get from doing all this? Nothing. Just self-embarrassment on his part and disgust on her part.

Maybe working with a bunch of other men caused him tension of some sort and he needs female attention to release it hence calling out to any sort of females, no matter young or old, fat or thin, ugly or pretty, to cure him.

You know, he probably would have been cute if he never tried to attract attention to himself. Hmmm.

Till then.
