Baking demo

Righty-o. Shall stop procrastinating and get this out of the way. This reminds me of this situation in one of the Shopaholic series books when Luke asked Becky if she needed to do get any shopping out of the way and Becky thought this; "No one gets shopping out of the way!" Haha. Bah. Ignore that.

So yes, baking demo at the Cadware center situated on the floor above Miri Cafe. The center shares the same stairs as Thai Bar.

Oo. I want an induction cooker. It's so much more convenient compared to those gas stoves. See, I have a thing about fires and flame ignitors. It just scares me. Sometimes, I have these weird imaginations that one day, while I am innocently lighting the fire on the gas stove, suddenly a gas explosion will happen and I shall be scarred. For life. Don't ask me how that will happen since I do not have any scientific concepts as to how it will occur. Do convince me that it won't though so I shall stop having such thoughts.

Anyway some photos from the baking demonstration by the chef Alan Ooi.

The knife I got for answering a question during the Q & A session. Behind is the recipes Alan used to teach us.

Alan demonstrating how to use the food processor. I think he was making pastry then.

Squeezing the ... some egg mixture thing I reckon into the tart shell (?).

Next, the blueberry filling.

Topping up with more egg mixture.

We were also given a chance to sample his baked wares which were pretty good.

A piece of blueberry cupcake. It was a blueberry crumble/cupcake sort of combination which was pretty nice.

Bread demo below. He taught us how to make a basic sweet dough and later on went on to show what can be made out of the sweet dough.

First was the pizza bread you usually see in bakeries.

I accidentally deleted the baked pizza bread. Haih. Kuat fail.

Finally, baking queen aunt receiving her knife from Alan.

Mom has been baking pizza bread ever since she attended this cooking demo. She did some other variations too such as using tuna and muesli.

Owh and yes, we are staring to have a collection of Cadware cookware at home which is good since I really like the space oven which is more convenient to use compared to the electric oven. We also have the rich cooker (also can be used to bake cakes and make soups =.=) and the 5 way steamer which prepares dinner in less than half an hour. I kid you not. You can cook rice, veggies, curries, soups and other dishes in one go. Yes, convenience is the key.

Okay. I am starting to get a wee bit helpless in choosing the right place to purchase a PSP. Some advised me to get it straight from the Sony Shop which will cost me a good RM 988 if the 4 gb memory card is included while others have said that getting it from the shop where it only costs RM 788 (including 4 gb memory card and casing) would not be a problem.

Anyway, why the big price difference I want to know? Apart from the memory card, why are certain shops selling the PSP for RM 699 while others cost RM 799?? I am super confused.

I shall be off now. Till then.
