Life as of late

So Ai Ling and I took the time to go through our previous blog posts yesterday. Although there weren't exactly many posts to go through, it was still fun to reminisce about the past and the things that we did.

Also, I've noticed how often I would complain about putting on weight and such while never having the thought that working out could actually be a good solution to it. That and consistent healthy eating. I still shudder at the thought of all the processed food, midnight snacks and desserts that we used to eat THINKING that is was all part of healthy eating. Really, how far we've come!

Looking back at my cryptic posts were also fun. While I could remember some of it, there were some which makes me wonder what had I thought and what actually happened back then. It will then all remain a mystery.

Also realized the absolute lack of updates on life so lemme bring you some snippets of the current life in some pictures! Yay!

What started as a depressing journey took a turn for the better as I continuously learnt from my mistakes to improve on my FYP. It was a journey which was often so painful and full of stress that at times I felt like giving up. However, the relief felt after handing in the final paper is just indescribable. Am hoping for the best for the grade of course as this will determine a whole lot of my future.

My supervisor told me that he may want to publish this paper as well as try to look for conference to present this paper. While this is still all in talks, it is encouraging to know that the end product is appreciated. Was all the pain worth it? Well, yeahh. Pretty much. All for a learning process I reckon.

Moving on.

While old food photos on this blog may consist of fat food (IMO, hehe), we're currently on a pretty low calorie diet. We've been eating this way since a couple of months back when all the workout plans started. Things that we've been eating are mostly baked, steamed or raw salady things and soups. Anyway, I do have more foodie piccas on my Facebook but for the sake of examples, here are some of our dinner pics.

Potato tortilla with baked chicken and broccoli salad with yogurt dressing. No, mayonnaise is something which is banned in this household as of now. *shudders at the thought of mayonnaise overload yonks back.

Prawn, orange and vegetable salad in a yogurt dressing! This is a really refreshing salad!

Of course, at times when I have these cravings for sweet treats and such, we would head out and share a piece of cake or something because 2 forks + 1 dessert= half the calories, Tee-hee.

Looking back, I am indeed ashamed of my old eating habits. Embarrassing *hides face in shame.

Ahem.

Being in the last semester now, we've also taken our graduation photo which will be displayed during convocation in March and have attended a tea with the president session.

View of the chosen photo from the screen. Apparently we're only allowed to retrieve this photo after convocation. Theme was retroish but yeah although the theme sort of failed, at least everyone still looked happy.

During the tea with the president session. I think we were told of this during the orientation but yeah, seem to have forgotten about this. Meh.

It is indeed almost a month till I finish my degree and while I may bitch about how awful Kampar is, it is so unbelievable how I will finally be packing all the things up from my room and not return to any of the mess anymore. There are so many memories here. Too many. Thinking about leaving it all seems hard now. How did 3 years fly by like this? Indeed, there will be so many things that I will miss. Mamak sessions. Tesco sessions. Cooking sessions. Laughing sessions. Too many memories etched here but life eventually has to move on and changes will take place.

Why do we have to face changes when we have only begun to get used to something? As Ai Ling said, the adapting to change part is absolutely the worse and I, for one, totally agree.

Sigh.

Gymming will definitely be on top of my must-miss list. Our RM 2 a session has always been fruitful. The nicknames we have given some of the people working out there, the equipment which are often lacking, the smell of the place, the gym partners. Le sigh! Where can I find a cheap gym in Miri anyways?

Collages of pics which we took in the gym after realizing how little workout time we had left in the gym. Kinda depressing really.

I will certainly miss those random Ipoh shopping trips as well.
I just have to leave just after we discovered the awesomeness of Daorae in Ipoh. The friendly staff, the Kpop music videos and awesome food! Miri, Y U NO awesome Korean food? =(

Our most recent Daorae trip for Ai Ling's so-called pre-birthday celebration!

Last birthday celebration with Ai Ling in Kampar. Sobs! Made ultra sweet cupcakes for her cos well, it is the last celebration anyways and I will definitely miss having her as a housemate. Really. I'm sure I'll never find someone like her anymore wuwuwuwwuwuwu. I am indeed blessed.

Anyway, something to distract you from all the emoness. Banana Milk! It was really yum although a bit 'spensive.

Well, there you have it. Now you know I'm finishing 3 years here and is about to leave this place for good. That is pretty much the gist of things I reckon.

And now, leaving you with..

A hilarious photo of Ai Ling who was trying out this hair-bun making scrunchie thingy. Hehehehe. She looks like a..shaggy lamp XD

Till the next update!
