Sigh it's just so difficult being loserish =(
Starting my internship this coming Monday and the only thought I have in mind is, "Will I screw up and get everyone mad at me?" It's not that screwing up is fun. I'd be bashing my head against the wall over and over again if a dumb incident happens. Will people like me? What is my job scope? Will I be bullied? Argh!
Okay. So I have many questions running in my head and not having a job for about 2 years now, this internship sort of scares me a bit. Not to mention the fact that my FYP supervisor got mad at me a couple of days back has added fuel to the I AM LOSER mode.
Yes I admit that I was wrong but seriously, am I some sort of scapegoat that has invited you to yell at me just because a few other people have made your day hell? It's not my problem. Oh well. My mistake was the cherry on the cake. Gawd I hate getting yelled at. It's not like I'm 7. I'm bloody 22 and I don't need anyone to YELL to get a message across.
From the looks of it I am still feeling pretty mad about the whole fiasco. Can't people treat me like a young adult instead of a kid? Is it my face? Yes. I might have been stapled with a face problem which will last me my entire life. Woe is me.
Gawd I wish people would stop judging but this is how life is in this cruel world. At least for anonymous people like yours truly.
Ahem. Enough ranting. I just hope I can complete my FYP ASAP and move on with my life already.
So, as promised, let me elaborate on my so-called Makan Makan Trip last December.
We headed down to Malacca for a day trip on Christmas day last year. It was initially supposed to be a 2-day one night affair but the hotel we were booked in made a screw up in the booking resulting in no rooms for us. Sigh.
Anyway, what was suppose to be a 2 hour drive turned to about a 5 hours drive due to the massive jam as a lot of people were heading down to Malacca as well. We arrived at around 3 something in the afternoon. Just in time for..lunch!
But first, some building shots. Would have done more if we had more time =/
Random trishaw man.
Our first stop for lunch. This place is recommended on most websites I have surfed and when arrived there was a queue outside the shop. Naturally we thought their chicken rice balls would be something to write home about.
Chicken which was pretty nice.
Not very nice curry fish. We also had some fried vegetables and normal chicken rice. It all cost up to RM 150 which is such a rip off.
Tummies filled with unsatisfactory food, we set out to explore more shops around Jonker Street within our limited time.
Thirst quencher for the afternoon. Apparently this can only be found in Malacca. Tasted really refreshing and fruity.
Ze stall which we later discovered can be found almost everywhere around Jonker Street.
Had some bites to snack on as well since there were some stalls preparing for the weekend night market on Jonker Street.
Tried this cos it looked yummy. Taste-wise, big no-no.
Best discovery ever! Although we were still full we HAD to have this and took away about 4 pieces to try.
Pai Tee which was not bad.
Ze magical durian puffs which turned out to be so delectable! Before we left Malacca we took away another 12. Yum.
Nyonya chendol at 88 Desserts or something like that. it is also really recommended on websites I've found but apart from the yummy gula melaka, this chendol was an epic fail judging from the measly ingredients.
Another epic fail. Durian ice kacang. There was no durian taste and look at the amount of ingredients they put in. If we had the time we would have looked for other places that are not tourists rip-offs.
While walking we saw so many people holding sticks of what seemed to be potato chips and munching on them. We were tempted to try so we stopped by one of the stalls and bought one.
The fry-cook.
The errr. grinder.
Our potato chip stick covered with cheese powder. It wasn't exactly crispy like potato chips but more like..thinly sliced fries. Nice.
Purrrty clogs.
We also had some home-made ice-cream.
Tiramisu flavoured.
Loved this one. Strawberry yogurt ice-cream.
Night came soon enough and we moved on to the Portugese Settlement to check out the scene.
Light around.
Obligatory pics with the tree.
A play that was going on.
The settlement is something like a housing area where all the residents there are..Portuguese. They had some sort of a Christmas decoration going on then and most of the houses were decorated to the nines. Seriously to the nines. There were so many tourists snapping photos of the house and such you'd think a celebrity was living there. I didn't want to cos I felt it was an..invasion of privacy. Heh.
Other random shots.
We left Malacca at around 11.00 pm and behold there was no jam back to KL after that.
Our second trip was a new year trip to Penang! Once again. Sigh. So we left on the 29th Dec and returned to Kampar on the 1st Jan.
Char siew rice when we arrived. At Kek Seng, our never fail to visit spot in Penang.
Durian ice kacang! One of the best durian ice-cream in the world.
After lunch we decided to explore Penang Road and came across banana pancakes!
The pancake man.
As you can see the batter is topped off with bananas, sesame and eggs.
Finished product. It was eggy on one side and erm...really good.
This is...some fruit ice kacang thing we had at New World Park. It was pretty nice despite the not so nice look.
O hai. This is my horse charming XD
Dinner at night was in Kelly Street.
Chicken feet.
Mediocre char kueh tiaw.
Duck kueh chap.
We also had the famouse Penang Road ice kacang.
Stick to the Teochew Chendol. This was seriously just average.
We had Paddington House of Pancakes!
Totally orgasmic.
Had huge-ass packets of Briyani and also assorted nuts. Which added fuel to my cough and flu then. Ugh.
Tried out Soul Kitchen as well and the breakfast was superb.
Apart from that, we went movie marathoning, walked around aimlessly and just hung out. Yeah. Not much photos to detail the rest of what we did except for most foodie photos. Meh.
Employment starts tomorrow! Please let me do well.
