Reluctant update

Since it has been ages since I have updated, I have decided to sit down and well, update.

I've been back in Kampar for roughly more than a week now and it has been..pretty boring to say the least. Classes have started and assignment titles have roughly been given.

An assignment to look forward to would be the travel article piece which would need us to travel to somewhere..interesting. Hurhur. Due to the lack of time, we'd most probably be covering somewhere near though.

Also, I haven't got any form of official confirmation from internship applications. I think it's high time to give up. It has been a total gloomy cloud that has been hanging over my head for the past few weeks and I think it's time to just let UTAR find a placement for me although I might end up in the jungles of...I don't know somewhere jungly I should just accept it because beggars can't be choosers.

Sigh. I am guessing that procrastination has occurred along the lines of internship application processing which resulted in late confirmation. Although it has been verbally said that the processing will not a problem, it still takes time which apparently is what is lacking. The eff.

In the future, I would make sure I am someone who will not procrastinate when it comes to internship applications. Enough said.

And it also doesn't help that there are people who would actually subtly or obviously rub salt into your wounds. Meh. Whatever.

Apart from my sad event, here are some other things that have happened:

One fine day in Miri, we decided to play Wii at Daphne's. Here is a photo of the competitive boys competing in a Wii game. T'was funny the way they blamed each other and sized themselves up during each challenge.

Was at Toy's World one day with the family and came across nanoblack. It seemed fun at that moment so we bought one home to build. Due to it's fun factor, we went back and got two more to build that night. Call me childish but it was really quite fun.

Ze package. The pieces were pretty small so it was sometimes sort of hard to fit them together.

Had lunch at a new Japanese restaurant located at Pelita Commercial Centre. It's called Sanga or something like that. Not very impressive really. Above is the kimchi soup rice set. The soup was really filling and it took a pretty long time for me to finish despite the fact that I was sharing it with mom. We also had some sushi which was not very fresh and pretty much not tasty.

@Coffee Bean in Sentral, KL. Yes it is spelled as Sentral. Had the bagel and cream cheese with a regular sunrise while waiting for the KTM back to ye ol' Kampar. Hogged their free Wi-fi and also power for the laptop for about 3 hours since the place was pretty empty.

As soon as classes started, I had a pasta craving. Weather was uber hot when we got back so making a pasta salad was most appropriate. This contains cherry tomatoes, corn, chili tuna, button mushrooms and some lalapan sambal my dad made. Yum it was.

I am also taking French this semester. Classes are every Saturday and since I have no life as mentioned, I decided to just suck it up. This is how part of the campus looks like on a Saturday. Empty. French is so far pretty fun. The lecturer can speak Italian and Spanish fluently apart from French which is pretty amazing. We've learnt the basic 'Hello, How do you do, What's your name' and such on the first day and a lot of tongue twisting and glottal sounds were involved.

Made a random trip to Ipoh on Sunday with Derek, Jang Yee and Ai Ling. Domino's opened a branch in Ipoh so we decided to check it out.

The journey to Domino's was pretty confusing but to cut a long story short, we found it in the end.

We had 3 pizzas, Cheese and Garlic onion rings and also BBQ wings. Let's just say that this totally beats Pizza Hut.

With our full tummies, we walked to Jusco to shop around. Journey there was filled with photos. First off, photos with the wall which I got fascinated with.

Along the way, we talked Derek into taking photos of us. He didn't do a very good job *cough so some had to be edited and cropped and such. Sigh.

Us and the and the sign.
 Road sign day.
 Another road sign day.
Evidence of Ai Ling damaging a sign.
 Us nearly reaching our destination.
O hai iz me. Current FB profile photo. Woo.

We spent most of the day lepaking and eating nonsensical stuff but nevertheless I had a lot of fun. It was good to de-stress and not think about internship shit for a while. I also spent over RM 100 for two books- The Lovely Bones and Sophie Kinsella's Mini Shopaholic! Didn't even know the new book was out and am currently reading it.

Group picca! Our trip ended in Burger King before we returned to Kampar.

I like my expression. Vain I know but meh.

On a random note, let me share a short anecdote on a recent happening in class.

One day, due to the hot weather, I decided to wear a lace top to class. Of course, I wore a singlet inside because the lace top was see through obviously with the lace and all. Nevertheless, it wasn't very revealing but Stippie, my dear coursemate just had to make a comment out of it.

" I have a new name for you," he said. I was of course curious and he proceeded to say, "Lace-bee-anne" which of course is pronounced as 'lesbian'. Sigh. I don't know where he gets his ideas sometimes. He has proceeded to make that his status message on MSN a couple of days back and has non-stop been talking about lace and such to me since then.

Now Lace-bee-anne has been shortened to Lacey. The people I have as coursemates. Sigh.

Till the next update!
