I've one Newspaper Production assignment down and one more Morphology & Syntax assignment to go! Another last quiz to take on Tuesday and I'll be finally free enough to ... Roar like a tiger!

I kid. To study for finals I mean. *Cough cough*.

Took some time-out on Friday to head down to Ipoh (longer account on Ai Ling's blog cos I am just that lazy to elaborate) and bought some nice stuff to wear for next semester! Considering this a pre-shopping spree in anticipation of our bigger shopping spree in KL after the finals!

I feel that my wardrobe has somehow shrunk for some unknown reason and it ain't funny having to wake up with zero ideas on what to wear. Grr.

Well, that wasn't really the main reason why we went to Ipoh. As a few handful of you know, I was actually contemplating on getting contact lens.

Why?

Since I'll be turning 22 soon on 26th April (yes, it's important for you to know the date k), I thought that I should try out something new with myself. However, with my oh-so wonderful eyesight, obviously hindrance will stand in the way and I found out getting lens would cost me approximately RM 420 for a yearly prescription.

The eff.

So it seems that my contact lens dream has been smashed, spat and trodden on so I concentrated on me shopping instead which resulted in 1 dress and 2 tops and 1 thin belt.

Hmm. Come to think of it. I guess the idea of lens also aroused when I had comments saying that I looked like a studious nerd from first impression.

Well, I've had people telling me I look like a moody sod but what the heck, what can I do? It's the face la. =.=

Since I can't seem to do things other normal people can do (like buy contact lenses off the counter and etc etc), I've decided on something.

That is to....

Embrace My Nerdy Side.


Since I'll be going back this May, I've decided to do some sort of a short photoshoot with Ai Ling and the cousins. Kok Chuan will also be back that month so we have decided to utilize the time cos we seldom, seldom, SELDOM get to meet up and all.

So, we went prop hunting in Ipoh Parade, our usual haunt. The theme I had envisioned was entitled (by myself) The Weird Family.

Sometimes, I just get such visions of ...things that seem to interest me. How does that happen? Maybe from the mixture of experiences and sights I've had for some time. Who knows.

ANYWAY, weird family would have accessories and props such as big vintagey plastic glasses and such, pretty weird kind of dressing and of course, poses and styles that were gonna be weird. Sorry for the bad elaboration but that's all I can use to describe my mental picture.

Hopefully if all goes well, it will all be good. Hurhur.

What does this have to do with embracing the nerdy side?

Easy. By prop searching, I have discovered my old love for the Nerd Look.

To be more specific an Artsy Nerd.

We had tang yuans and ice-cream last week which was epicly awesome. Pic's in my DSLR still untransfered so please refer to Ai Ling's for the pic.

Stuff we got from Ipoh Parade. Blinged up lensless specs and a big ribbon hairband and a hat clip. Like the veil part of it so yeah.

While walking around new town today, we came across some other lovely fake geek specs so decided to get them to use as other accessories.
