Am I depressed? Why do I feel that there is this gloomy cloud looming over my head most of the time? Why do I get so irritated and annoyed at the most little things? Why do I feel that life is just so mundane?
Oh wait. I'm in Kampar. That explains something.
Anyway. While I'm in a pretty okay mood AS OF NOW, I shall blog about something happier.
Went aTescoing with Ai Ling yesterday and we were walking down the baking aisle when I came across some cake mixes. An operation Try To Be Happy idea hit and I got
Devil's Food cake mix. Thank you, Pillsbury.
Ai Ling and I decided to turn them into cupcakes. The mixing process was easy cos all you had to do was follow the instructions. We also mixed in strawberry, white chocolate and chocolate chips.
Oh yes. What did we use to bake these cuppie cakes?
Toaster Oven.
I'd like to take this opportunity to say how GRATEFUL I am to have this toaster oven, which was given by the baking queen aunt. It was such a torture for Ai Ling and I to lug it back to Kampar a couple of semesters back but it was worth it.
Hey we even baked tandoori chicken on it so that is saying something.
Next time your mom asks you to lug things back, just do it. Like the pack of cards I was asked to lug back but that is a story for another day.
Back to baking. So the first batch that went in was a total flop. Well, not really taste-wise but it looked pretty awful.
First, we sort of squeezed 8 cups unto the baking tray and used the 'toast' function instead of the 'warm'
First batch were pretty...charcoal looking cos it was quite burnt.
One perfect solution.
We reduced the next batch to 6 cupcakes and used the warm function. Results were lovely.
In the process of rising.
Still rising.
And after 15 minutes,
Result.
Another view.
For people that do not have proper baking stuff, I think we did great XD.
For a box of cake mix, I think this Pillsbury mix did really well. The cuppies were really moist and addictive.
Being the good neighbours that we obviously are, we gave some away to some neighbours living opposite us.
I bloody swear I can polish up to like 4 cupcakes in one sitting which isn't very good now, is it?
And that, is one thing to be happy about. Back to being broody.
The end.
