Miri is still awesome

I've finally gotten Internet connection at home! Pro please, pro please.

Actually it's nothing much la. The house modem went kaput and a new one had to replace it. Cousin Ben helped with the installation and after some drama-rama with the Streamyx password and all, I finally have connection =D Thanks to those I asked around about for answering my n00b questions.

My holidays so far have been pretty good. I've been getting nice sleep in a nice air-conditioned room, driving around and spending time with my cousins and some friends. I've visited Parkson, which has improved tremendously, ate yummy Miri food, visited some other shopping complexes and basically just relaxing.

Tomorrow I will be out shopping with my mom and on Friday, we will be heading to Sibu with my 2 cousins to watch the interschool band formation competition. Time's a-running.

Anyways, some back-dated photos which I was SUPPOSED to post up last week but didn't.

Photobucket
Ai Ling headed down to KL since her exams finished days earlier than mine and I requested for Krispy Kreme.

Photobucket
She got two boxes. One with glazed doughnuts.

Photobucket
And another assorted box.

They were oh-so-good, seriously. The dough sort of melts in your mouth. With these, I was able to survive the horror which was the literature paper. I needed sugar, sugar and more sugar during that dark period. Heck, even my sleeping habits were altered. I slept at 4 or 5 am and woke up at 12 noon. This actually went on for a few days. At least it is over lar.

Then on 11th May, after literature paper, we headed to the old town to pick up some stuff for the family. Coffee was of course part of the staples to bring back.

Photobucket
Old-school bus tickets.

Photobucket
Attempts to take photos in the wobbly bus. I quite like this one somehow.

Photobucket
Better attempt.

Photobucket
Old, old bus with no air conditioning.

We had pizza after all the walking around in town.

Photobucket
Lazy to rotate, sorry. We had this set for 2 thing which was quite okay. Pizza Hut in Kampar was practically deserted.

Photobucket
I THINK this is the seafood flavoured pizza thing. Hmm.

Photobucket
Italian chicken I think.

I then had a RM 0.40 drink of cincau which came in a big plastic bag while Ai Ling had limau assam for RM 0.80.

On 12th of May, we cleaned our apartment. By that time, most of the other apartment tenants had already gone home so things were very quiet at our place.

Photobucket
Noodles by Ai Ling for lunch.

Photobucket
Rabbits all over each other. Tiny who is supposed to be a female rabbit is actually a male. Accidents happen tsk tsk.

Ai Ling and I didn't get much sleep during that night cos we had a 5 am KTM to catch and had to be up by 3 am =.= So I watched my Moonlight Resonance while she continued with her Gem of Life which was getting more and more boring.

We left the house at 4 am to the KTM station and arrived at Central at around 7.45 am. There we met up with two of Ai Ling's friends who passed her something to bring back to Miri. Had McD's breakfast and after checking in our luggages, we used the express train to KLIA.

Photobucket
It was our first time on it and it was such a lovely change compared to the bus rides we often had to take.

Photobucket
It was totally comfortable and odour-free =D

Photobucket
Happy people on a train.

Miri weather was super hot when we arrived but I reckon it is getting much better now.

Some things I've done back home.

Photobucket
Char kuey tiaw with tomato sauce from Jingwood. Wasn't that tomatoey.

Photobucket
Had my haircut =D

Nothing life changing. Just had the fringe shortened and the entire thing layered and thinned. Shall do something else with it when it gets long enough.

Photobucket
Old market curry rice!! Still as yummy as ever. I had to renew my licence so Ai Ling and I had this for breakfast after the JPJ.

Photobucket
My beloved 3 sour! Now this is a 3 sour. No orange juice nonsense. Old market definitely has one of the best.

Photobucket
Some things never change.

Photobucket
Ai Ling, my wonderful housemate who also drove me to the JPJ.

Photobucket
Thanks!

Photobucket
I also did some baking =D

Photobucket
Had them iced and decorated for St Joseph's sec school food fair, particularly for the band's stall. Mom made muffins as well. Alas, my old passion that is baking has been ignited.

Hung out at the beach after bumming around at the food fair the day after.

Photobucket
My bro playing coconut baseball with my cousin Ben with the paternal cousin looking on.

Photobucket
Cousinhood.

Photobucket
Did lunch at 9 to 5 after that. The food is superb as ever. Benjamin's mongolian boxing chicken was really nice.

Photobucket
My buttermilk baby kailan and rice. Look at the sauce. *Slurps. I think they increased the portion of their food.

Photobucket
My brother's nestum chicken.

Photobucket
Benjamin treated the maternal family to dinner on Sunday. Dinner was held at Chong Fa Seafood Restaurant located in Permyjaya.

Some dishes we had.

Photobucket
Prawns! Nestum and buttermilk.

Photobucket
Kangkung.

Photobucket
Buttermilk crab! Haven't had crab in ages so it was such a treat. Yum.

Photobucket
Old marketed again but this time we had char kueh tiaw instead.

Photobucket
Courtesy of cousin Ben who fetched us there and around.

I also got to meet up with Jessica over some lovely roti canai (in her case) and banana leaf rice (in my case). Haven't talked to her for AGES so it was fun catching up. Maybe we can squeeze in a baking session =D

Photobucket
Had my Siamese Secret craving fulfilled =D I had grilled cajun chicken though which was nice, as usual. However, I think the portion shrunk. Met up with Jessica, Allen, Hui Li, Roni, Daphne, Kuan Ce, Gong & Dragon. We didn't get to talk much though, I think. Hope to have another meet up with the busy people.

So there. Backdated post.

Till then

Hope I'll go back next year...visit my family..my friends.....there's still RM0.40 drinks in Malaysia? That's very rare..Everything has gone up..in terms of pricing..

Owh you should definitely come back next year! Nothing beats home I reckon. Yea I was quite surprised to see drinks sold less than RM 1 too. It is Kampar after all. Haha.
