Let's start off from 1st October which is also the first day of Hari Raya and my dad's birthday. Visited 2 houses namely Aizzat's and Azlan's who is a friend of Allen's bro, Ah Bi. As usual, Aizzat's house was filled with food ranging from savoury curries to sweet delights like cakes and biscuits. I had a helping of beef soto and is was yummy! I've decided to hopefully start a beef-soto- eating tradition if I visit Aizzat's house on Raya. That is of course, if they continue to make beef soto lar.
Visitors were aplenty at his house so we decided to hang around the verandah after having our fill of food. We basically just relaxed ourselves there, feeling the breeze and making small talk.

Random shot.

Allen loves ____________.
Fill in the blank. Haha.

The whole process was pretty messy. The correct way to ice the cake is actually to pour the icing all over it and let the excess chocolate drip unto something. Get it?

And no, I did not take part whatsoever in the cake baking process and mom did all of it. Haha. The best I could do with the limited chocolate icing.
Anyway, dinner consisted of Indian food. At first, we thought of treating dad to Zaika but in the end, he insisted on cooking the Indian dishes himself.

Over all view.

Dad also made some chapati.

Brinjal and yogurt salad. This is the BOMB. As stated in one of my old posts, I dislike brinjals but this dish made me enjoy it. Haha.

Dhal to go with chapati. My sister liked this one. It was alright for me.

Spinach and cheese. Loved this one. The cheese went well with the potatoes and spinach. Also had some lovely tinges of spice taste.

Tandoori chicken.
On the second day of Raya (which was still a public holiday), Anna picked me up and we had lunch at the Taiwan Restaurant. I think that is what it is called. See how bad I am at noticing these things? Tsk tsk. Anna was going back to UMS on Saturday so we had a meet-up lunch before parting ways.
My cousin used to work at the Taiwan Restaurant (located somewhere behind Hailo Cafe) and he did mention some dishes that were worth trying. However, back then I wasn't very interested in trying so I sort of forgot what he recommended. Haha.

Fried dumplings!

The dumplings were hidden beneath the layer of fried coating. This was cabbage and pork dumplings if not mistaken. Well, it was delicious. Slightly crispy on the outside, juicy and moist on the inside.

Anna's Zha Jian noodles. I think that's the name.

Anna recommended this for me. Beef and vegetable noodle soup I think. This was really good.

My peach tea and her apple tea. Very the refreshing.

Though the menu may be limited, I'd come back here for the dumplings and beef noodle soup. Yum.
Moment of rant please.
Sometimes having a younger sibling is alright but other times, it is such a pain in the neck. No matter how much you try to be nice to him it is never enough! All they want is to use you and SUCK YOU DRY and then dispose of you later for they never care if you are tired, or annoyed they will just keep bugging you and make you do things and throw tantrums as though you need them so desperately like air.
I hope he discovers what a truly selfish brat he really is. The spoilt one who never appreciates anything at all.
Shall be off to ANTM now.
Till then.
