Reporting live

Yes, I just underwent the burning process approximately 40 minutes ago? Let me share with you the experience.

I went to the clinic at around 2.10 pm. The doctors were still having their meeting so I stuck around the counter till around 2.30 pm, when the doctors all returned from their meeting. So there was a patient before my turn so I told the nurse to call me when it was my turn and continued playing around the counter. Then a fussy patient came along so the nurse asked me to let her go first and I agreed la since I'm nice that way (Haha). After the first patient's turn, the ENT doctor asked the nurse to call me in so I went in and he applied some sort of gel into my nose which is supposed to numb the area I think. It was sort of uncomfortable la. After the application he asked me to go main jauh-jauh first. Haha.

Anyway, I continued to hang around and then it was finally my turn. More gel was applied continued with the LA spray. After that some Xylocaine was injected. That part wasn't that bad although I was pretty worried about it at first. I kept asking,"Where is that going?" Haha. My right hand was also tied to this black plate thingamajig. According to the doctor, if I move my hand from it, I might get electrocuted. I don't know how true is that part la. He might just be kidding lor. =.=

Owh and speaking of pain killers, they taste super disgusting okay. It's all bitter bitter and for a period of time, I couldn't even feel my throat! And I kept getting tears in my eyes, not from crying but more of a stinging kind of thing.

Next, came the burning process. The head of the machine sort of looks like a wire with a needle thing poking out and although I had ample pain killers, it HURTS. I am not kidding. It's sort of like having a tattoo in your nose. You can feel the needle just jabbing and jabbing the turbinates and getting deeper and deeper. It's not like I've ever had a tattoo but I just came to that conclusion anyway.

I had major tears in my eyes cos I think it's some sort of reaction la. I wasn't crying!! Then I kept coughing too. After telling the doc I felt pain, he injected more Xylocaine into my nose and continued to burn the turbinates which was getting pretty torturous at that point. He did a good job for my right turbinate but for my left turbinate, since I moved a bit (it was a reaction!!), he sort of damaged my septum (the side of the nose) and he didn't dare to do more since he might damage it more.

Not to worry, he says, I can come back again after I am more relaxed and we can get that fixed. He also said to come back in a couple of weeks and I said isn't the machine going back in 2 weeks. He just laughed. =.=

Anyway, I still have to get my left turbinate burned because it's still not up to par.

Knowing how the process will be I think I will be able to relax a bit more. Not much to burn too, according to him.

Sigh.

Owh. Not much blood was involved too.

Shall have to pick a day and get back to him soon. And not to forget to use my nasal sprays from now onwards. How to forget after that experience? Tsk tsk. You produce so much mucous, he said. Haha.

Actually have lots of backdated photos to post up. Shall leave that for another day then.

Till then.
