Chap Goh Meh

My line sucks but I don't give a .....! Haha. Anyway.

The Chinese New Year festivities has officially come to an end. Having spent a week back in the good ol' hometown, I shall say that the time spent was pretty good. I spent time with the family and friends and ate and ate till I put on weight. Sigh.

Unlike Miri, there will not be any fireworks whatsoever tonight which will mark the end of the festivities. Ling jie and I had a good chat about what to have for dinner tonight and so far, we have not managed to come up with anything interesting. I do have a craving for white carrot soup though. Hmm.

A couple of days back, while I was lifelessly clicking about on Facebook, I came across this group page which featured a photography competition on all things Chinese New Year. For the fun of it, I decided to submit one of my photos for fun. Actually I did more than that. I submitted a couple. Haha!. What. I was too free.

A day or two after submission, I found one of it on their group page.

Photo that I submitted. Hehe.

Truth be told, I have been wanting to update the blog for a couple of days. However, I had other obligations to fulfill aka assignments and shizz.

It's not like I have much to update on but the blogging mood returned all of a sudden and I felt like a blogger for once. Hmm.

Since the return to Kampar, apart from the apparently shiteous weather, we took time to involve ourselves in useful activities!

Went to UTP (that's Universiti Teknologi Petronas to you) for a Words Wit Competition which was jointly organised by News Straits Time. It was more of a general knowledge quiz thing but we had fun, although we didn't bag any prizes.

The university was gorgeous, all glass and modern-looking. I was impressed.

Will be going for a dance fiesta thing organized by the uni's Dance Club this coming Thursday.

Why the sudden activeness? We have decided that we should spend our remaining days in uni wisely as time waits for no man. We do not want to end up regretting the fact that we did not spend our days in uni wisely.

Haha! It's also for the fact that we have yet another Journalism Newspaper assignment to complete so we need as many news as we can get. Haha.

Some photos below.

Took this one random day when Ai Ling scolded me for not taking photos of the beautifully red sky. =.= See la got such people in this world one. Controlling. Tsk tsk. Haha!

Anyway, when I whipped the camera out, it was a bit too late to photograph the red skies already but I decided to do some shots just to please her. This idea came accidentally so I forced Ling jie to do this. Punishment for being too pushy. Lol.

When I see this photo, the only caption I can think of is 'All that I'm after is a life full of laughter'.

Blame Daughtry.

New addiction would be Jason Derulo though. Haha.

The past couple of days has been too hot for cooking, in my opinion. Hence, we have resolved to having cold meals like salads for din din.

Dinner 1: Chicken pie which I lugged back all the way from Miri and garden salad on the side. The dressing for the salad was a Tesco brand french dressing and it was honestly pretty good. We mixed romanian lettuce with some cherry tomatoes, apples, corn, garlic, button mushrooms and red shallots. Really good.

Dinner 2: Macaroni salad. This had a bigger mixture of ingredients namely macaroni, romanian lettuce, cherry tomatoes, chilli tuna, french dressing, corn, button mushrooms, garlic, shallots and a dash of basil and grated parmesan cheese. FTW.

This morning, I was woken up by the ringing of the phone, indicating a message. I clicked on it only to find 4 messages waiting to be read.

1 was from Digi, another from the cousin and 2 from the housemate, Soon Ai Ling.

Yes. 2.

Apparently, her friend's mother had prepared some asam laksa and had given her some and hence, she wanted me to wake up to partake in this feast.

Sigh.

My housemate is too cute sometimes.

Happy Chap Goh Meh! Make sure you guys have a good meal to seal the Chinese New Year festivities with a bang.

Till then.
