The battle

This has got to be one of the most ridiculous and irresponsible event as of late.

Last week, Ai Ling told me that we had an ant issue at the apartment. Our kitchen was swarming with ants and she did some DIY to improve the situation. Last year, we paid RM 60 to this pest exterminator centre called Nur Warisan or something ridiculous like that for 4 'treatments', so the receipt says.

She called the exterminator last week to let him know about our situation and he told her that he 'will come' and deal with it. Ha, big fat chance of that happening!

When I got back last Sunday, the situation seemed to be under control. However, a couple of days later, the situation worsened so I decided to call the exterminator myself.

The first call went through and before I could tell him the problem, he told me to call back after 5 minutes because he was 'driving'.

I made the second call around 10 minutes later. He picked up and then disconnected the line immediately. I tried a 3rd time and what do you know, he doesn't pick up!

Never mind, I told myself, I'll just call him the following day and that was what I did today.

I called at around 9.30 am or so, the time that a person should be at work already but what d0 you know, he doesn't even pick up the phone. What an idiot.

Just because we are students does not give you the right to scam our money. Nur Warisan Pest Control nonsense is just extremely sad and nonsensical.

I got Ai Ling to try and he didn't pick up either. He hung up on her instead.

Getting pissed, I told myself I cannot let this happen. We can't be having ants marching into our food and getting everywhere. So I did the most logical thing I could think of.

I. Googled.

Should have done this ages ago. The powers of Google. Sighs.

Instead of depending on the soon-to-be out of business exterminator, we have decided to use a more natural approach to this ant invasion situation.

Several websites I visited claimed that apple vinegar was a good weapon to use against these annoying buggers. I have a 50-50 mix of water and apple vinegar and have sprayed it all over the kitchen. It proves to work as the ants can be seen scattering around like headless chickens. The only downside is that the entire kitchen smells of vinegar =/

Well, I'd rather have a vinegary kitchen compared to an anty one.

I've tried cinnamon as well which the ants have ran away from.

Will continue this for a couple of days to see how effective is this method.

And the battle will rage on. Grr.

Till then.

Veronica: YEAH!! Stupid fellow la he. So lazy to do his work. Just because he thinks we're students means we are kids lo. Idiotic. Gosh I hate ants too! Freaking annoying creatures la. Crawling all over the place and rosaking all the food and stuff! Grr.

Winnie: Ya ya. Read about that too. Orange skin also seems to help. Hmm. Should try that too.
