C for Cameron!

Yes, yes the Cameron post finally! Sorry for not updating me blog sooner. I wanted to get around to it yesterday and the day before but the connection in my place was really bad so I wasn't able to do so. Haven been out and about too mostly with mom, my sis & her friend who is visiting from Perak and brother and cousin Ben.

Was supposed to meet Fiona and Hui Li for ice-cream on Thursday but due to something quite unfortunate I had to FFK last minute. Shall do a detailed story with pictures next time. Let's say it involves 3 flat tyres and 2 hours of wait =.= I'm really, really sorry for the absence! Hope to be able to meet next time round.

So let's talk about Cameron Highlands. After screwing up the paper that is known as Mass Communication, I got home and after mucking around for a bit, we were on our way at around 1.00 pm. The first bus we took would take us to Ipoh where we would take the 3.00 pm bus to Cameron Highlands from there.

The transit was smooth so we had no problems there. We were told that it would take 3 1/2 hours to reach but arrived in around 3 hours.

Camwhoring on the bus before the journey began. Sooi Pheng had a 'wonderful' person sitting next to her who was emanating very 'fragrant' odour throughout the trip. Haha!


The tickets. One ride up costs RM 10.30. As usual, it is always cheaper to travel by bus cos a taxi to Cameron can cause around RM 40 which is 'spensive.

Looking for the hotel was not a problem as it was located at the main road. So, we got off the bus at Brinchang Town which was the area we were staying at. Brinchang is pretty convenient as it is located near some pretty nice attractions such as the night market, cafes & eateries, convenient stores and more hotels. There are also attractions like cactus farms and strawberry farms which are within walking distance.

So, after getting off the bus, we checked into our hotel which is known as Hotel Chua Gin.


We managed to get the economy room which was RM 88 per night. Two double beds filled the space of the room. As you can see, the facilities are actually kind of old. However, there weren't any dodgy people around so it was kind of alright. There was hot water too for showers so all is well =)


The hotel here does not have any air-conditioning. Without it, it still feels like an air-conditioned room! Believe me when I say how chilly the weather can get at night.

We only realised there were many budget hotels around Brinchang after walking around for a bit. I think the prices does increase during peak seasons though.

Our neighbours. We had really noisy neighbours who had such irritating kids that kept waking up at such absurd times! 4 am? 5 am? Stupid parents. I have no idea how they train these kids. Tsk tsk.


After refreshing ourselves, we then decided to go to the night market which is just a walk away. A walk down slope, that is.

The night market is something like the Seberkas weekend market in Miri as it operates only on weekends. The plus side is, you won't get all sweaty just walking around and the warm food tastes better eaten during the lovely cooling weather. Ahh.

A scene from the market. See the ice-cream stall at the end? It sells really, really good ice-cream for RM 2. So many flavours to choose from ranging from alcoholic ones to well, other types. These are home-made so I think you can only get it here.

Why you will never freeze to death on Cameron.


Lots and loads of socks and gloves going for cheap prices. Don't know how many people actually need gloves cos well, it doesn't get THAT cold here.


Don't play play. Even corn sellers need laptops these days.


Strawberry pastries! We tried the Strawberry tart.

The pastry was really crumbly and the filling was just nice so it was really yum.

Shall do a part 2 and 3 and 4 and well, let's see how long I can finish this post.
