My Preciouss~

Over the weekend, I burnt a rather large hole in my pocket. When I mean large, I do mean LARGE.

Apart from the usual accessories and jewelry shopping, I got myself a DSLR.

Yes, I got myself a DSLR.

Yep, a DSLR I got myself.

I'm still in a bit of a daze because I've never, ever spent so much money in one go on an item. NEVER.

I initially took some photos of my new Nikon D5000 but the phone is acting up on me so I just googled up the image. Haha.

Now, I initially thought of getting a Canon one, either the 1000d or 450d but after much advice from people out there, I looked into Nikon as well. The D5000 pretty much attracted me cos it has pretty good specs (see Cnet Asia or Google) and since my mom said to invest in a good one, I did. Haha.

Altogether, I spent RM 3149 for Precious (somehow I thought that would be a good name), which is RM 2899 for the kit and the rest for the lens and LCD protector.

Anyway, some of test shots I took ahead. I took tons lo but had to narrow it down here la. I'm still experimenting around with the settings and such. Great fun indeed. Shall remember to do my tutorial work after this la. Sigh.

Images have been resized cos they're too big for Photobucket. And Photobucket is just so laggish these days. Annoying indeed.

What we had for dinner today. Before that, while Ai Ling was preparing, I was busy fooling around with my Precious.

Ini bilik saya tanpa flash. I adjusted the aperture and shutter speed only and got this. Was quite impressed. It was night then, mind you.

I quite like this one cos she looks naturally happy. Had to force her to help me in this experiment. Tsk tsk.

I then proceeded to the balcony and played around with it. This time, I found the magic of ISO. I don't quite like using flash so the ISO setting is quite helpful. Not much noise with high ISO as well, which is a good thing about the 5000d.



Look at the lights! Can see 2 cows chewing on grass there. Yep. At the little corner there.



Took this before discovering the wonders of ISO. Adjusted the aperture only I think.




Let there be light.
