I have this feeling that I will be quite tied up next week with all the preparations that are yet to be made. I have some other documents yet to be certified and since mom will be working, I shall also have to chauffeur my brother around to get his back-t0-school items =/ I have mixed feeling towards leaving; excited yet sad.
Yes, I shall be back for CNY but still, it's not the same, you know, you know?
Anyway, did some productive activities today. I woke up at around 8.45 am (cos my brain told me it was already 10 am!) and after lazing about for a bit, I made the preparations to bake. Made some cherry choc cookies using red and green glace cherries to give it the Christmas look. Now why are red and green colours always associated with Christmas? Pretty curious to know.
Some of the cookies are to be given away while some are to be packed for me to bring over. Shall try to squeeze in more baking sessions soon so that I have more cookies to bring over =D
Before I start with the 'Things I did today' photos, I shall do a short summary of the night out with the former colleagues last night. Renee called me up yesterday morning and suggested dinner with 2 other colleagues. I agreed and after picking her up that night, we headed to Taman Awam.
I reckon I've not been there in about a year. Apparently, there is this steamboat cum grill shop there with an all-you-can-eat concept for only RM 18 nett.
It's also halal and quite a hygenic spot to dine.
The grill cum steamboat contraption.
I got splattered by the stupid melted margarine countless of times last night. Very painful, okay. I don't remember getting splattered so much during the Michael steamboat days. Hmmph. Nevertheless, the food was good. Also, they had a karaoke machine and two men kept belting out Malay tunes the entire night. I found a very nice song through the singing session which I shall happily share at the end of the post.
I was treated to dinner (thank you so much!) so I didn't have to pay a single cent. However, I do think RM 18 for an all-you-can-eat grill and steamboat is very worth it. Hoho. We went for a walk around the park soon after and of course, took photos! I have around 20 over photos of us which I shall put into a collage for easier posting.

It's a bit blur because I resized them for this collage. You can view the full album + commentaries on my Facebook.
Next off, the 'things I did today' photos. We shall start off with the cherry choc cookies.

I'm not a big fan of glace cherries but in these cookies, they did not have much of a taste so I shall say I like them. Haha.

Bits of green and red embedded into the cookies. I did not have the energy to mix the dough thoroughly because I doubled the recipe and I can tell you it took a while just to mix everything together. I think they turned out fine though. Hope whoever I give these to will like them =)
In the middle of cookie-making, my dad walked in and asked me to head down to my paternal grandma's house to decorate the Christmas tree. Some church members of the Chinese congregation were going to visit them and have a caroling session tonight.

Lighted and decorated tree. If you must know (which you don't), we don't have a Christmas tree at home. I think someone once told us that all our decorations got stolen and the tree well, also mysteriously disappeared. However, I'm quite certain that all those decorations belong to us. As for the tree, maybe dad ran out to get one? Hmmph. I think we got cheated though.
Tree decorating was fun. Spotted these cute wooden ornaments which I really like =)

If you are wondering why the lights are on in these photos, it is because the pesky cousin refused to let us turn it off. We managed to keep him away after by threatening to tear down the tree. Haha.

I officially like all the wooden ornaments. If we continue not to have an Xmas tree in the house, I shall pack all them ornaments up and use it in my future home in the well, future? Lol. Wth.

The sign on the top.

Unlit tree. Not bad lar.
Before we headed home after decorating, we had some fried fritters grandma made for the carolers tonight.

The tiny ones are the prawn fritters while the bigger ones are carrots and long beans fritters.
Grandma makes yummy fritters, popiah, chicken wings, soups and food in general.
I miss it already =(
Before I end, the very nice song. It is called Ruang Rindu by Letto, this Indonesian group ( I am guessin on this one). Seriously, it's nice.
See, in karaoke form some more so you can sing along.
Till then.

I like baking compared to cooking cos I don't like using the stove (quite scary). Yea, cleaning is a hassle but the baking part makes up for it. Haha. Yalo a bit fattening so have to limit it a bit.
Yea, one month nie but stillll..haha. First timer leaving home so like that lo. Haha. Thx for the luck wish! =D
