After searching for choux (pronounced as 'shoe'. Well something like that) pastry recipes online and through books, I settled for one in the Australia Women Weekly's recipe book, using 80g of butter instead of the usual whole or half stick.
It was interesting since this was the first time I tried making choux pastry. I was sort of amazed at the stickiness of the dough. So sakai. Haha.

Spooned dough in the tray. You can also pipe the pastry unto the trays but I prefer spooning since it is a lot easier and has more interesting shapes. Haha.

The baking process in the space oven. Mom did most of the operation on this thing since I'm still a noob at this.

Small amount of sticky dough left.
The recipe book's instruction was to use a electrical mixer but then since the amount of dough wasn't exactly plenty, mom suggested I use the hand mixer instead to mix everything together which was a bit of a mistake since the whole thing formed into one sticky ball in the end and stuck unto the hand mixer. Right.
Freshly baked puff!! The whole baking process was really very cute. Seeing the pastry puff up and brown. Aww. Super interesting. And the aroma. Yum.

After cooling the puffs on racks, you can cut open the puff or make a little hole to pump the cream in. I cut open the puffs since it was getting late. The puffs are hollow inside.
I tried eating a puff alone and it was pretty yummy, if you are into sugarless pastry. Haha.

After spooning some custard cream into it.
The custard cream I made wasn't enough to give the puffs the extra oomph when you chomp into it. *Notes to self to double the cream recipe next time.

Le sigh. I am satisfied.
Also, I bought a new book. 'The Pact-a love story' by Jodi Picoult. I figured I needed a change hence purchasing the book. So far the book has been well slightly heavy and depressing but real all the same. Not so bad really.
Got scolded TWICE last week-both cases which were not my fault at all. I guess this are the initiation rites on being a receptionist. You are not one if you have never gotten scolded. So far, I have 3 patients in my death-wish list- people whom I loath but have to pretend to be nice to. Really, it isn't easy not to dislike people especially if they are being mean to you for no reason at all. Grrr. I must work on that.
On a lighter note, the paternal cousin is back from Labuan. =D A bit happy please since my life has gotten so mundane and all.
I need new specs. And a new colour for the car. The car I drive around is starting to rust and the colour is peeling. I was thinking of spraying it dark. Probably black or this really gorgeous blackish purple shade I saw on another car yesterday. Hmmm.
And yes, it is raining.
I shall be off before I start typing more random thoughts.
Till then.
